“Cave Art – The origins of creativity”: Art exhibition at the BCF

Ever since the dawn of humanity, there existed the urge to express oneself through imagery. All over the planet, we can find evidence in the form of prehistoric paintings and engraving on the surfaces of rocks.

In his series of works entitled Cave Art, Oliver Wrobel looks into this primordial human urge for creativity.

On canvas, the artist created a variedly structured substrate for his portrayals through the application of acrylic paint, structure paste, sand from the Sahara Desert and even river pebbles.

Besides authentic Paleolithic (Stone Age) motives, Oliver Wrobel mainly realizes his own motives in a Paleolithic manner. Center of his paintings are always portrayals of animals and humans in warm, earthy tones.

The exhbition will be openend on Sunday, March 11, at 4 pm. The public is cordially invited.

During the run of this exhibition, the works can be seen on weekdays from 9 am until 5 pm.
